Picking up the RV was an adventure in itself! Stepping into our home on wheels for the first time was an exhilarating feeling, like a mix of freedom and cozy comfort all rolled into one.
Astoria, the first stop on our journey, is a gem nestled at the mouth of the Columbia River. Its Victorian-era homes, iconic Astoria Column, and thriving arts scene are just a few of the reasons to fall in love with this town.
Our next destination was Fort Clatsop, a replica of Lewis and Clark’s winter encampment in 1805-1806. Walking through the fort felt like stepping back in time, and the surrounding rainforest added an enchanting touch to the experience.
The Columbia River Maritime Museum in Astoria was a fascinating deep dive into the region’s maritime history. With interactive exhibits and a stunning collection of historic vessels, it’s a must-visit for any seafaring enthusiast.
Cannon Beach, with its iconic Haystack Rock and pristine coastline, was a true paradise. We spent our days beachcombing, exploring tide pools, and taking in the stunning ocean views.
The scenic drive to Tillamook led us to the heavenly Tillamook Creamery, where we indulged in delicious cheese, ice cream, and a behind-the-scenes look at the cheese-making process.Â
In Newport, we were captivated by the Oregon Coast Aquarium, home to marine life like sea otters, seals, and a diverse array of fish. The aquarium’s dedication to conservation and education made our visit all the more meaningful.
