- [Notice of Park Closure] Fire Restrictions Starting July 14, 2023
As of 12:01 am on Friday, July 14, 2023, all fires within Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area are strictly prohibited until further notice.
- [Notice of Park Closure] Evans Campground
Evans Campground and the group site will remain accessible until September 4. However, it will be closed from September 5 onwards to facilitate essential maintenance work on the seawall.
- [Cautionary Advisory] Extended Fish Cleaning Station Closure
The park’s fish cleaning stations will remain unavailable as the National Park Service conducts research and tests alternative solutions. This closure also applies to the restroom facility at the Fort Spokane boat launch.
- [Cautionary Advisory] Hawk Creek Lane Restriction at Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area
Temporary road restrictions will be implemented on the access road between the Hawk Creek campground and boat launch due to the erosion caused by Hawk Creek. The road will be reduced to one lane until further updates are provided

Please be aware that these waters may serve as a water source for firefighting aircraft. When aircraft approach at low altitudes, we kindly request all watercraft to clear the center of the lake for safety purposes.

Transportation
- Driving/Transportation
Visitors can access Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area via different entrances, with Washington Highway 25 being a popular route. You can comfortably drive your RV, trailer, or any other motorized vehicle to reach and locate the park without any hassles. Once inside the park, both paved and unpaved roads will lead you to the different campgrounds and campsites. There are no restrictions on rig sizes.
- Parking area
The park offers designated RV parking areas throughout and provides parking pads in campsites for RVs. Overnight parking outside of designated campsites is allowed, but camping with an RV in the park is recommended for easy exploration.
- Public Transportation
There is no public transportation, shuttle buses, or walking paths available within Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area. Visitors must rely on private vehicles or other means of transportation to get around.

Spring Canyon Campground

Another sought-after destination in the park is Fort Spokane Campground, which boasts 67 pet-friendly campsites for both RVs and tents. RVs and trailers up to 50 feet in length are allowed, though no hookups are provided. With amenities like potable water, trash cans, an amphitheater, and a dump station, campers can enjoy a comfortable stay. The campground’s convenient location near the visitor center, stores, and gas stations adds to its appeal. Reservations are available for some campsites, while others can be secured on a first-come, first-served basis. Fort Spokane Campground generally operates from spring through fall.
Kettle Falls Campground
Nestled in a serene wooded area near the lake, Kettle Falls Campground offers 76 pet-friendly campsites catering to RVs, trailers, and tents. The campground accommodates RVs and trailers up to 50 feet in length. Campsite reservations are accepted for some spots, while others are open for walk-ins. Kettle Falls Campground typically welcomes visitors from late spring through early fall.

Jones Bay Campground offers 9 first-come, first-served campsites. The campground can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 30 feet in length. It typically operates from late spring through early fall. The campground’s terrain consists of gravel and dirt roads with limited vegetation, making access by RV/trailer or car challenging. While there are trash cans and vault toilets, no RV hookups are provided. It is a pet-friendly campground.
Hawk Creek Campground
Hawk Creek Campground provides 20 first-come, first-served campsites. The campsites can support RVs and trailers up to 40 feet in length, but no hookups are available. The campground is open from late spring through early fall and offers amenities like vault toilets, picnic tables, fire pits, and a courtesy dock. It is pet-friendly as well.
Hunters Campground
Hunters Campground features 37 first-come, first-served campsites. The sites cater to both group and RV camping, accommodating RVs and trailers up to 60 feet in length. Haag Cove Campground
Haag Cove Campground features 18 first-come, first-served campsites located along the shore of Lake Roosevelt among scattered pine trees.
