Transportation Options and Rig Size Restrictions

Lake Vermillion Recreation Area is easily accessible by private vehicle with several entrances located around the park. Visitors can choose from two main entrances

the north entrance which is located off Highway 385 and the south entrance which is located off Highway 44.

RV parking is available at designated areas throughout the park. However overnight parking outside of campsites is not permitted. It’s recommended to camp with an RV and use alternative transportation methods to explore the park.

Public transportation options include shuttle buses and walking paths. The shuttle bus service runs frequently and covers major attractions in the park. Walking paths are also available for those who prefer a more leisurely pace.

This is the most popular campground in the area located on the eastern shore of Lake Vermillion. It has 73 campsites including 50 with electric hookups and can accommodate RVs up to 60 feet. The campground is open from May to October and offers a variety of activities such as fishing boating swimming and hiking. Amenities include hot showers flush toilets a dump station and a boat ramp. Pets are welcome on a leash.

McCarthy Beach State Park

Located just 15 minutes from Lake Vermillion this campground has 93 campsites including 47 with electric hookups and can accommodate RVs up to 50 feet. The campground is open from May to October and offers a variety of activities such as swimming fishing and hiking. Amenities include hot showers flush toilets and a dump station. Pets are welcome on a leash.

Lake Vermillion Campground

Located on the southern shore of the lake this campground has 34 campsites including 17 with electric hookups and can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet. The campground is open from May to October and offers a variety of activities such as fishing boating and hiking. Amenities include hot showers flush toilets and a dump station. Pets are welcome on a leash.

Fortune Bay RV Resort

This is a privately owned campground located on the western shore of Lake Vermillion. It has 72 full hookup sites and can accommodate RVs up to 60 feet. The campground is open from May to October and offers a variety of activities such as golfing swimming and fishing. Amenities include hot showers flush toilets a dump station and a clubhouse. Pets are welcome on a leash.

Crow Creek Campground

This first-come-first-served campground has 13 campsites and can accommodate RVs up to 30 feet. It is open from May to October and offers a variety of activities such as fishing hiking and boating. Amenities include vault toilets and a boat ramp. Pets are welcome on a leash.

Echo Bay Campground

This first-come-first-served campground has 18 campsites and can accommodate RVs up to 30 feet. It is open from May to October and offers a variety of activities such as fishing hiking and boating. Amenities include vault toilets and a boat ramp. Pets are welcome on a leash.

Little Vermillion Lake Campground

This first-come-first-served campground has 20 campsites and can accommodate RVs up to 30 feet. It is open from May to October and offers a variety of activities such as fishing hiking and boating. Amenities include vault toilets and a boat ramp. Pets are welcome on a leash.
