Getting to Peshtigo River State Forest What You Need to Know Located in northeastern Wisconsin the Peshtigo River State Forest is easily accessible by car or RV. The park has several entrances including the main entrance on Highway 8 which leads to the Park Headquarters and the High Falls Campground. Visitors can also access the park via the Governor Thompson State Park entrance which provides access to the Peshtigo River and several hiking trails. When it comes to RV travel the park has certain restrictions on rig sizes. RVs are limited to a maximum length of 40 feet and there are no hookups or dump stations available. However the park does offer potable water and a sanitation dump station at the High Falls Campground. Visitors traveling by private vehicle can park at several designated areas throughout the park. It’s important to note that some roads within the park are narrow and winding so caution should be exercised when driving. Additionally some roads may be closed during the winter months due to snow and ice.

The forest does not offer RV-specific parking areas but RVs are welcome to park in the campgrounds. Overnight parking outside of designated campsites is not permitted. It is recommended to camp with an RV and use alternative transportation methods such as hiking or biking to explore the forest.
